COVID-19 Protocols and procedures
We take our role as members of your community seriously and wanted to provide you with the procedures and protocols we have in place to guarantee a safe salon reopening. As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to doing everything we can to help flatten the curve. In doing so, we wanted to share the decisions we’ve made to adapt the experience during these extraordinary times.
We will be seeing clients by appointment only. Our goal is to limit the amount of people in the salon at any given time. Spacing between people in the salon will be six feet apart at minimum, except when team members are servicing clients. To accomplish this, we will modify appointment schedules accordingly; and only utilize every other station to ensure social distancing is observed.
WE HAVE MANDATED THAT ALL TEAM MEMBERS:
- All team members will receive supplementary health and sanitation training to prevent the spread of germs.
- Wear a mask at all times.
- Wear a face shield at the washbasin when removing colour from client’s hair.
- Wear a face shield during all face-to-face interactions with clients.
- Wash their hands, before and after every appointment.
- Clean and disinfect all tools, before and after every appointment.
- Clean and disinfect their chair and station, before and after every appointment.
- Sanitize their hands throughout the service if they change tools or step away from their station at any time.
- Use single use disposable towels and capes only
- Stay home if they are sick and/or not feeling well and be screened daily for signs of COVID before their shifts.
- Plexiglass barriers has been installed at the reception area.
- We have added extra time between appointments for disinfecting stations and commonly touched surfaces with medical grade disinfectants.
- Unfortunately during this time, we will not be offering our complimentary beverage service, magazines and charging stations.
ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Please arrive ON TIME for your appointment and not any earlier. The door will be locked to keep the number of people inside to a minimum. We ask you to text us once you arrive and a team member will let you inside.
- At this time, we ask that you come ALONE to your appointment, in our attempts to be cognizant of physical distancing measures.
WE WILL BE ENGAGING IN TOUCH FREE GREETINGS AT THIS TIME. NO HUGS OR HANDSHAKES FOR NOW
- Face masks are REQUIRED when entering the salon. We consider this protocol of the utmost importance and will not service any client without a mask. If you are having a colour service, we will provide you with a disposable mask as to not soil yours during your service. If you do not arrive with one, masks are available at the salon. For haircut clients; we suggest bringing two reusable masks with you for comfort, as some hair clippings may fall into your mask during the service. Having a fresh mask to change into at the end of the service may be preferable for you!
- You will be asked to have your temperature taken and sanitize your hands upon arrival.
- WE ASK THAT ALL HAIRCUT CLIENTS ARRIVE WITH CLEAN, DRY HAIR WITHOUT ANY STYLING PRODUCTS APPLIED. SHAMPOO SERVICES WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF REMOVING COLOUR. YOUR HAIR WILL EITHER BE CUT DRY OR WET DOWN DEPENDING ON YOUR STYLE AND YOUR SERVICE PROVIDERS RECOMMENDATION AND FINISHED WITH A BLOW DRY AND OR HOT TOOLS.
CLIENTS RECEIVING ONLY COLOUR WILL RECEIVE A COMPLIMENTARY NATURAL TEXTURE BLOW DRY TO FINISH OR WITH IT WET STYLED. YOU MAY ALSO BOOK WITH ONE OF OUR STYLISTS FOR A FINISHED BLOW DRY. CHARGES APPLY.
BLOW DRY SERVICES WILL BE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE
CLIENTS MAY LEAVE WITH THEIR HAIR WET AND/ OR STYLED WITH PRODUCT
- Please ask for assistance when selecting your recommended products in the retail area, and one of us will be happy to retrieve and sanitize them for you for you to take home.
- Touchless payments are preferred, including an increased-limit tap option. We have also added a tip option onto our machine for your convenience.
- Washrooms and high touch surfaces will be cleaned and sanitizer regularly throughout the day
- In light of our escalating operating costs once we re-open our doors, we will be charging A COVID fee of $5 to every appointment . This temporary surcharge will help to cover the costs of PPE for employees and clients and our increased sanitation measures.
Although these new protocols may seem drastic, they are essential to offer a safe environment for all.
